The conservation of biodiversity, the growth of local communities, the use of participatory procedures to manage areas and achieve human prosperity and the implementation of sustainable production activities lie at the core of our vision: a future in which humans live in harmony with nature.
We develop integrated activities in ecologically important areas of Greece, build partnerships and put forward sustainable solutions towards both biodiversity conservation and human prosperity. Our long presence in the regions of Dadia and Prespa, proves that it can be done.
Evros
For more than 20 years, we have been working to protect unique threatened species in Dadia, the land of raptors, while also promoting primary production activities that benefit both humans and nature. Forestry and animal husbandry can be sustainable: they can generate income and growth for local communities while substantially contributing to maintaining the area’s ecological balance by preserving the necessary vegetation mosaic and providing food for the area’s endangered vultures.
Prespa
Prespa is yet another outstanding example of integrated and sustainable area management. We consistently support the Society for the Protection of Prespa, with the aim of building on the opportunities for green economy in the wider area while protecting its unique biodiversity.
