Because it is one of the last refuges of the Mediterranean seal, Monachus monachus, which strives for its survival at a global level.

At the same time this is a unique chance for the measures of sustainable fishing to be implemented, in order to improve the fishermen’s income, who currently see their fisheries diminishing. Follow the CYCLADES Life project which works for lively Greek seas.

ACHELOOS RIVER

What should we prioritize in the history of the diversion of Acheloos River: the environmental or financial damage?

Our 20-year fight against this diversion was at the same time a struggle for the protection of the unique ecosystems of Pindos as well as the pockets of the Greek taxpayers.

We continue the fight against the “diversion of logic”, in order to avoid an issue which will be a financial burden rather than a problem solver.
