Some natural places and ecosystems stand out. Their dynamic yet fragile balance allows them to foster and nurture life.

Greece has been gifted with a variety and plenitude of such places: forests by the sea or on huge mountainous masses, lakes, rivers, coastal and inland wetlands, and the unique blue waters of our seas. With such a wealthy and often threatened natural heritage, one has to wonder: where should we begin and what should be the focus of our efforts?

Given our limited financial and human resources and that time is never on our side, we have decided to focus our efforts on five kinds of places.

Our work there teaches us how to achieve a better balance between humans and nature. Preserving them is our priority because it is key to the conservation of biodiversity in Greece as well as the Mediterranean.
